Christine Marie Kent Obituary, WAKEFIELD, R.I. — Christine Marie Kent, a respected philanthropic leader and community advocate, lost his life unexpectedly on August 13, 2026, at her home in Wakefield, Rhode Island. She was 51 years old.
Born on November 28, 1974, Christine was remembered by her family and local area for a life centered on making others feel seen, welcomed, and valued. She was the beloved wife of Jessica Kent and a devoted mother to Olivia Foisy and Bailey Kent. Her family remembered her as the heart of their home and as someone who found immense joy in raising her daughters.
For more than a decade, Christine served as Vice President of Development and Chief Philanthropic Officer and Executive Director of the South County Health Foundation. In those roles, she dedicated herself to supporting important causes and strengthening the South County local area through philanthropy, leadership, and service.
Before joining the South County Health Foundation, Christine served as Chief Operating Officer of House of Hope CDC in Warwick. Her work there reflected the same commitment to helping others and improving the lives of people in need that became a defining part of her professional and community service.
Christine’s contributions extended well beyond her professional responsibilities. She served on the boards of several community organizations, including the South County Chamber of Commerce, where she was immediate past president, as well as the South County Museum, Welcome House of Rhode Island, and the South County Pride Foundation.
