Charles Plum Obituary, SMITHFIELD, Pa. — Charles Plum, 17, of Lake Lynn, Pennsylvania, has died following a motorcycle crash involving a box truck in Smithfield, Fayette County, authorities said.
The fatal collision occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Route 119 and Valley School Road in Smithfield. Emergency crews responded to the scene and gave medical assistance to Plum following the crash.
Based on to Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker, Plum was transported by ambulance to Uniontown Hospital for treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at approximately 9 a.m.
Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances of the collision. Details about how the motorcycle and box truck came into contact, or what may have led to the crash, remain under inquiry.
